I was going through one of the lowest points of my life when I discovered Tierra de Maria in Tagaytay City. I've seen it a few times on television, where people spoke of peace, healing, and even miracles they experienced within its walls. And something in me longed to feel that same grace, so I promised myself that one day I'll visit the shrine.
When I finally got the chance to go there, in its former location, upon entering, I felt an indescribable peace. I was embraced by the comforting presence of the Lord, as if He was gently telling me that I wasn't alone in my battles. It was a quiet, personal miracle, one that set the tone for every visit I would make thereafter.
Today, the shrine sits near the exit gate of Picnic Grove, now dressed in a distinct Mediterranean charm. Its walls glow in warm shades of orange, while vibrant, colorful tiles add a lively touch to the space. Yet despite this fresh look, the church still carries the same cozy and serene ambiance it has always been known for.
To the right of the grounds, a quiet corner invites visitors to pause, light a candle, and whisper a prayer.
And the Marian statue, on their garden, to the left stands as a powerful symbol of Mother Mary's unwavering love. Majestic yet gentle, it seems to whisper a reassuring reminder that, as our mother, she'll always be with us, watching over us with care.
Inside the chapel, gentle Christian music still fills the air, creating the atmosphere of solemnity your heart may have long been yearning for. Even in the company of other visitors, the space radiates a deep serenity that makes you feel as though you are in quiet communion with God.
That's why I love coming back to this place.
But aside from the peace that it gives me, there's this one special reason why I keep coming back. I want to continually give thanks to the Lord for answering one of my deepest prayers.
There was a moment in my life when I felt so hopeless and I prayed to Our Lady of Guadalupe, and asked for something that seemed impossible: a day job aligned with my skills, despite my limited credentials. Through her loving intercession, the Lord granted my request. That very job, which once felt beyond reach, is the same one I hold and cherish to this day.

As I look back on my experiences here, I realize that Tierra de Maria is more than just a destination, it is a refuge for weary hearts and a wellspring of hope for those seeking comfort. Whether you come to pray, to reflect, or simply to pause in silence, the shrine has a way of touching your spirit in ways words can hardly capture. In the stillness of Tierra de Maria, one finds more than just a beautiful shrine, one discovers a sanctuary of faith, gratitude, and quiet miracles. It is a reminder that no matter where life takes us, there will always be places that bring us closer to the Divine, and moments that reaffirm the power of prayer. To step into its grounds is to carry home not only memories, but also a renewed heart filled with hope.
If you're planning to visit, the shrine is open daily, but it’s always best to check their official Facebook page for any announcements or special closures before visiting.
How to get there?
By public transportation- From Manila, get on a bus bound to Tagaytay or Nasugbu and tell the bus conductor to drop you off the terminal where you can hire a tricycle or a jeep that will take you to the shrine.
And by private vehicle - if you're coming from South Luzon Express way, take the Sta. Rosa exit. Continue driving along Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Road until you reach the Tagaytay-Calamba Road intersection. Then turn left until you reach Tagaytay Picnic Grove. It's located near the exit gate of the park.
May your visit to Our Lady of Manaoag at Tierra de Maria be filled with peace, reflection, and the comfort of its sacred embrace.
